CONCEPTUALIST
ARTIST STATEMENT
Through my work I examine the phenomenon of post conceptualist interpolation as metaphorical conveyance of 'the artist' vs 'the medium.'
My process is confessionalistically simplistic and as such begins with the concept of 'un-drawing,' From my inception I have rejected the notion of any form of drawing 'pictures'. When contextualised in the format of history the concept becomes an archaic reference that pre dates cave men. It is at this point that I begin the journey of creation.
What began as a personal journey of masking-tape-ism has translated into mixed media resonances that both define and question the audiences subjective and objective nuances.
I have long disputed the notion of 'influence' and as such my work is entirely generated by my inner sanctum. It's a work that in it's most primitive definition would be described as a decretum, a degeneration & a casual nod to the diametric disillusionment of the dystopian dynamic.
